Rural Life Mass

The annual Rural Life Mass, presented by the Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (DCCW), was held August 16 at St. Mary, Church of the Assumption Parish in West. Joining Bishop Vásquez were Father Stephen Nesrsta, Rural Life director and pastor of Holy Trinity Parish in Corn Hill as well as Fathers Ed Karasek and Tim Vaverek, pastor of St. Mary along with several priests and deacons. Pictured above with Bishop Vásquez and Father Vaverek is Grand Knight Jon Hlavenka and the members of the Knights of Columbus Council 2305, who prepared a delicious Czech-style meal for all attendees. Council 2305 and Assumption Parish prides itself on its Czech heritage.
