Coats for Kids Outreach to Mexico

Council 9748, St. Frances Cabrini in Granbury, Texas started participating in Coats for Kids in 2019.Over the past 5 years we have distributed more than 1,500 jackets through our local food banks, elementary schools, and Catholic Charities.

This year our pastor, Father Fernando Preciado asked if we could help his childhood parish in Mexico. Our council decided to share 50% of our Coats for Kids Fund Raising efforts with the council in Mexico. Father connected us with Council 17128, San Francisco de Asis in Nochistlan, Mexico. We worked with Worthy Deputy Grand Knight, Rodrigo Sandoval from Council 17128.In our discussions, we learned that the council has a coat/blanket factory in town and by wiring the council money, they were able to purchase and distribute 76 coats and 75 blankets to help keep children and families warm in their community. We hope to continue this relationship with Council 17128 in our future Coats for Kids fundraising efforts.
