Program Director Report

By Pat Henz, Texas Program Director, Texas Knight Reporter

Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025

My Brother Knights,

Remember that your programs are on display at all times. If you are not doing any programs, people do not see that your council is active. However, if you are doing programs, make sure that you are publishing them. Let members and the community know about any of your upcoming programs. Announce them at church, in the bulletin, on social media and through any email chains. Then don’t forget to follow up with photos and a short summery of what the council did, how they helped someone in need, or brought happiness to someone.

The success of any council comes from the success of its programs. Successful programs bring new members. Without these two, a council begins to fail. Get the council active. Get the council involved and invite the parish community to participate in these programs. Give them something to look forward to and a purpose to become a Knight.

We have our State Bowling Tournament coming April 13/14 & 20/21 in Port Arthur. And the State Softball Tournament coming in June. More information and entry forms should have already been sent out.

As we get ready for the 120th Texas State Convention, we will be announcing the State Program Awards. Councils have been submitting their best programs from the LIFE, FAITH, FAMILY, and COMMUNITY categories. We will also be announcing the FAMILY OF THE YEAR and the CHAPLAIN OF THE YEAR.

Programs will also be one of the many training or breakout sessions that will be offered at this year’s convention. More details will be coming out soon on these training opportunities. Remember: Every Program is an opportunity for every Knight to put their Faith in Action and step Into the Breach. The Program Team is here to help answer questions and provide suggestions in order for your council to achieve the ultimate goal – STAR COUNCIL.
