Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
Council 7850 had another successful Tootsie Roll Drive this year. We raised $1,550.87 on the first Saturday and $1,630.29 on the second Saturday, for a grand Total of $3,181.16.Forty-one Knights worked three two-hour shifts on each Saturday at five locations, providing 492 manhours of volunteer effort. Donors receive a Tootsie Roll for their contributions. These proceeds will be forwarded to Texas State Council and then 70% returned to the Diocese of Dallas for distribution to several charities, including Deaf & Disabled, Special Olympics, Pregnancy Crisis, St. Vincent de Paul, Natural Disaster Relief and American Wheelchair Mission.
The weather was clear, cool and windy each day; however, the brave Knights of this Council manned their assigned posts until the end Patrons who donated gave accolades to our Knights, thanking them for their service and often noting that they had relatives who are and/or were Knights.
Many thanks are in order for fellow Sir Knight Chuck O’Reilly III for allowing us to solicit donations at five of his McDonald’s franchises This safe environment has enabled us to consistently collect the funds to support many of charitable donations in the Diocese of Dallas. These donations are distributed to: Deaf & Disabled, Special Olympics, Pregnancy Crisis (Birth Choice, White Rose, Bellas House and Mater Filius), St. Vincent de Paul, Natural Disaster Relief and American Wheelchair Mission.
