Challenge Issued to all Texas Knights Councils!

America’s National Motto Project

Would you like to put GOD back into our schools in the state of Texas? I can help!

Council #8306 just completed a project entitled "America's National Motto" project which resulted in over 100 posters like the one you see pictured being placed in every elementary and middle school in the Northside Independent School District (NISD) here in San Antonio. Additionally, every High School, Magnet School and Specialty School in NISD and every Catholic School in the NISD area will also be receiving a poster next school year.

My challenge to every Knight of Columbus Council in the State of Texas is to place In God We Trust posters in every public school in Texas. Not only can you put GOD’s name back into our schools, you do it very easily and very inexpensively! That sounds too good to be true. Well, it is NOT. Here is how:

Back in 2021, our Texas Legislature passed Senate Bill 797 and Governor Abbot signed it into law. This law says that any public school which receives a donation of this poster from an individual or organization must conspicuously display it in their school. That is what compels public schools to accept and display America’s National Motto.

The poster costs $1.00 plus tax. That frame costs $1.50 plus tax. For under $3.00 you can put a poster in your child’s or grandchild’s school. You might ask, “How can you do this so economically?” Well, the American History & Heritage Foundation, out of Arkansas, prints the posters for a donation of $1.00 per poster (minimum $50 donation) and works with Hobby Lobby who will sell you the frames for $1.50 per frame.

I have made available on the Texas Knights webpage ( tkofc.org ) whatever any Knights Council needs in electronic form to do this project successfully provided you work the change management issues first AND, believe me, Change Management is Really Important! What does that mean? It means you start with the school district’s superintendent first. That is Critical! Once you have the superintendent’s buy-in and the district sends out a notice informing the principals, you simply send emails to principals and begin making deliveries.

Here is what I have placed on tkofc.org – a copy of a project plan (steps that need to be accomplished), instructions for working with American History and Heritage Foundation, sample copies of emails to the superintendent and principals, a sample spreadsheet which contains a short write-up on how to easily collect school information, a picture of the In God We Trust poster for attaching to your emails.

That’s it! You CAN put GOD’s name back in Texas public schools. It is easy and affordable. Please seriously consider getting your Knights Council involved to place In God We Trust posters in as many schools as we can in the Great State of Texas.
