The Flag Poles At Eagle Rock

Attached is a photograph of Eagle Rock subdivision entrance on FM 2325 and Woodcreek Drive. Over 1,000 automobiles a day drive by this entrance and for over 10 years people have wondered why there are no flags on the poles at this entrance. The simple reason was lack of funds.

The Knights of Columbus, 4th Degree are partnering with the WPOA, which comprises Woodcreek North, Fallbrook and Eagle Rock on a project to “Raise the Flags at Eagle Rock”. This endeavor includes the beautification of the entrance, the safeguarding of the flags, and addressing painting and lighting concerns of the flag poles. The trees around the poles will be trimmed to insure visibility and safety. The flags will be lit by solar lighting from above to ensure the lights do not interfere with Wimberley’s commitment to preserving the night sky.

Other precautions have been taken to ensure the integrity of the area and flags. Only the United States of America Flag, Texas State Flag and the Wimberley Strong or Eagle Rock Flag will be allowed to be flown.

The Knights of Columbus 4th Degree is dedicated to American Patriotism. Over the years they have raised funds for Wounded Warriors, medical centers catering to veterans, Emily Ann Veteran Memorial Park, and flag memorials such as the one in front of St. Mary Church.
