Abundant Life Pregnancy Resource Center

Recently the Knights of Columbus Council 10524 of the St. Edward Catholic Parish presented a $7,400 check to the Abundant Life Pregnancy Resource Center (PRC) towards the purchase of an Ultrasound machine for the PRC. This donation was in addition to a similar $7,400 check presented to the PRC from the Knights of Columbus National Headquarters as part of the organization’s Ultrasound Initiative Program which is an essential part of the organization’s on-going Pro-Life activities. This program provides funds from the national organization to match funds raised by a local council for the purchase of an ultrasound machine for authorized pregnancy centers. The Abundant Life Pregnancy Resource Center of Athens qualified for this initiative and the Knights of Council 10524 raised the necessary funds to qualify for the matching funds. The Knights conducted numerous fund-raising activities this past year including a very successful Celebrating Life Pancake Breakfast where the balance of the needed funds was collected.

Amanda Pruitt, director of the Abundant Life Resource has repeatedly expressed appreciation of the strong financial support provided by the Knights, but the funding of an Ultrasound machine for the PRC has gone beyond all expectations. She further proclaimed it is a prayer answered and, “…….we will now be able to provide a critical service for our expectant mothers and their unborn babies.”

The Ultrasound machine is planned to be operational at the PRC soon after ongoing renovations a completed.
