Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025
The Corpus Christi Area Knights of Columbus hosted the 31st Annual Clergy and Religious Banquet on October 10, 2024, at Most Precious Blood Catholic Church. The evening provided the Knights of Columbus an opportunity to show admiration, appreciation and gratitude to the dedicated clergy and religious members of the Diocese. Master of Ceremony, Victoriano Garcia, thanked the priests for bringing the Sacraments and the Gospel to every corner of the Diocese, helping to build a closer relationship with God. He also thanked the deacons, their wives and their families for assisting our priests and parishes throughout our communities. Notably he thanked the Religious Sisters and Brothers who serve in our shelters, charities, schools, hospitals, and churches.
Diocesan Deputy Victoriano Garcia also highlighted the fact that for the 1st time in Texas State Council history, the Worthy State Deputy, Ron Alonzo, the Worthy State Chaplain, His Excellency Bishop Mulvey, the Worthy Master of the Sword, Sir Knight Edward Cantu, and the Worthy District 4 Master, Sir Knight Joe Saavedra, are all from the Diocese of Corpus Christi.
Texas State Deputy Ron Alonzo made a check presentation of $20,895.67 to his Excellency Bishop Mulvey, on behalf of the over 3,100 Knights of Columbus members within the Diocese. He also noted that with this presentation made tonight, Brother Knights in the Diocese of Corpus Christi have now donated over $519,993.74 since 1998 towards Charities in our Diocese.
Bishop Michael Mulvey gave his thanks to the Knights of Columbus for the gift, and for everything the Order does in the Diocese.
