Holy Spirit Council Wives Appreciation Dinner

When Council 15174 recalls the Mission of the Knights of Columbus (“Together, we’re empowering Catholic men to live their Faith at home, in their parish, at work and in their community.”) it recognizes how much commitment is also freely offered by the wives of the Brother Knights. This council formally recognized these special ladies with an appreciation dinner on September 25th, at the St. Jude Hall of Holy Spirit Church in Holly Lake Ranch, Texas.

More than 50 Knights, wives, widows and family members attended this celebratory event, which began with a little social time. This was followed by a dinner preceded with a blessing offered by our Holy Spirit Deacon, John Erdag.

The delectable menu was comprised of Caesars salad, tasty pasta (spaghetti, one young aficionado returned 3 times), garlic bread, tea, wine (3 varieties were all donated) and Tiramisu; and all exquisitely prepared by the Knights and Sam’s Club.

After dinner, the attendees broke out in song, mostly from the 60’s, seeing the lyrics on their smart phones. A lot of fun.

At the conclusion of the evening, all women were presented with a sincere token of just how much they’re appreciated. They chose a colorful rose to take home as a reminder of how much they are loved.
