Brother Knights,

As your State Warden, it gives me great pride to see how well you are doing across the state. We have a lot to be proud of in Texas because of the work YOU do to support our Catholic faith as Knights of Columbus. Our Priests and Bishops can count on us.

In order for our Texas State Council to support our 814 councils in Texas we do levy State Per Capita assessments annually. This is $10 per member based on the rosters on July 1, 2024. These funds support the State operations and all the training meetings we have. Statements were mailed to the Financial Secretaries of record the end of July. A second reminder mailing was just sent out to Financial Secretaries on October 25, 2024. This is an important duty for each council. There are some strong reasons to pay this obligation before March 1, 2025. If a council is still in arrears as of this date they cannot send delegates to the State convention, cannot participate in the State free throw contest and applications for Educational Grants will not be accepted.

I am very proud to report that through October 31, 2024, $509,700.38 or 73.49% of obligations have been paid! This is the best showing thus far this early in any fraternal year. Thank you for getting this done! For those councils not there yet there please remember that State per Capita, in addition to State Charities, is also a requirement to earn the coveted State Charities Quick Start Award. This needs to be done before December 31, 2024.
