Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025

The Knights of Columbus St. John Cardinal Fisher Council 13363 recently celebrated a significant milestone with the grand opening of a new playground at St. Mary the Virgin Parish in Arlington, TX. This project, expertly managed by (FS) Anton Seidl, SK, has provided a joyful and safe space for the children of the parish. In recognition of Seidl’s exceptional leadership and dedication, Grand Knight Marcus Lopez, SK on behalf of the council, awarded him a special Patriotic Rosary as a token of appreciation for the time and energy he invested in bringing this project to life.

Grand Knight Marcus Lopez, SK, expressed immense pride in the council’s accomplishments, highlighting how the playground perfectly reflects the core values of the Knights of Columbus—faith, family, and community. He praised Seidl’s dedication, stating that the success of the project and its lasting impact on parish families was a testament to the council’s commitment to service and unity.

The grand opening celebration in September was attended by Officer Cody Adams and other members of the Arlington Police Department, demonstrating the strong relationship between the council and local law enforcement. Additionally, Pat Pelletier from the Mother and Unborn Babies of Fort Worth was also present, and during the event, the council presented her organization with an additional $400 donation from the Knights of Columbus Supreme Council to support her important work advocating for mothers and unborn children.

Once more, the council and Officer Adams gathered again for the celebration of St. Michael’s feast on Sept 29th, where they launched their annual “Shield a Badge with Prayer” program, inviting the parish community to spiritually support local law enforcement through prayer.

Through active participation in their programs, the Knights of the St. John Cardinal Fisher Council continue to enrich their parish and community. By completing projects like the playground, inviting the local police department to Mass in an effort to show support for law enforcement, and a strong advocacy for mothers and unborn children, the council embodies the Knights of Columbus values of charity, unity, and fraternity.
