Vol. 2, 2024 - 2025

It was a busy weekend in Carthage, Texas as the community celebrated the 75th Jubilee of the St. William of Vercelli parish and the Knights of Council 11026 were active supporting all the weekend activities. The weekend started with a social and dance Friday evening with the knights ever present making sure all was attended to. Saturday was packed with activities again with the knights providing the logistical support and participating in the patriotic events of the day. At 11:00 the sir knights of the assembly led the ceremony for the dedication of the flagpole and plaque in the memory of parish service member, Sgt. Bradley Beste who was killed in action while serving in Ramadi Iraq. The ceremony was concluded with the release of white doves by Fr. Steve as a symbol of faith and hope. Pictured above is the sir Knights leading the flagpole ceremony.

After completion of the dedication ceremony everyone enjoyed a great meal in the best East Texas traditions. The brisket and beans prepared by Fr. Steve were made to perfection and enjoyed by all. The knights again were active in preparing the food, including a whole roasted hog and then serving all parishioners and guests. Pictured below are some of the knights in action. Knight Ricky Grainer and GK James Edelen busy preparing some delicious bar-b-que for parishioners while Bishop Strikland is seen conversing with St. William of Vercelli parishioners.
