Council 4786 Supporting Assumption Seminary

SAN ANTONIO – A $77,142.82 donation on Dec. 20, 2023 from Knights of Columbus St. Francis of Assisi Council #4786, will reinvigorate efforts toward the formation of future Catholic priests.

Key council members presented a check to Fr. Jim Meyers, PSS, Rector of Assumption Seminary, and included Rodolpho Carrizales Sr., Financial Secretary; Anthony Quintero, Grand Knight; and Gilbert Campbell, Treasurer.

Since its inception in 1959, the Council has prioritized its support of Catholic religious vocations. Specifically, the Council focuses on contributions that facilitate the education of future priests for the Roman Catholic Church. From 2017 through 2022, the Council’s financial support to the Assumption Seminary had totaled $150,000.The check presentation to Fr. Meyers took place at the Bishop Flanagan Chapter Christmas Dinner held at St. Henry’s Catholic Church. With this check, the Council’s total donations toward Assumption Seminary is $227,174.82.
